    On July 1, 2017, South Carolina increased the size limit and lowered the bag and boat limit for southern, summer, and Gulf flounder in state waters.

    The bag limit of 10 flounder per person or 20 per vessel includes Southern Flounder, Summer Flounder, and Gulf Flounder.

    Bag limits apply to rod and reel or gig. It is unlawful to gig for flounder in salt waters during daylight hours.

    Flounder bag limit is 4 fish total, and includes cumulative total of Summer Flounder, Southern Flounder, and Gulf Flounder.

    Seasons, size and creel limits for flounder are the same as the recreational limits in adjacent joint and coastal waters.

    Federal regulations are waived for Summer Flounder, and recreational anglers shall follow regulations for the state in which their catch is landed.
